heya steve!
i've heard stories about that... i believe it was borman from sega naomi that tried to swap a fried GD laser with a dreamcast laser.
it resulted in a booting system but the game wouldn't load. was crashing at loading...
maybe you should try to get in touch with him... anyway the answer lays on sega-naomi

tu peu prendre sois la lentille a part soi tous le bloc

te fais pachié prend le broque entier mais noubli pas la carte GD de la naomi a intallé dessus

so, i can take a dreamcast gdrom lens unit and swap it in my naomi gdrom? (yes, with the gdrom pcb on it)
